Manchester Terrorist Attack

Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives or were injured in the events at Manchester Arena on Monday night.

If you have any concerns about students who have been affected directly or indirectly by the events, please let our pastoral team know so we can provide any support they may need at this time.

We are aware that many young people are worried and anxious about what has happened and some may not know how to talk about those worries. Below is a link to some useful information from the BBC Newsround site which gives guidance on how to support young people.

Dear Parents and Carers

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of our uniform requirements. We have enjoyed excellent co-operation from parents over the years to ensure students arrive at school smart, tidy and ready to work and I am pleased to note that the majority of our students adhere to our requirements.

We are anxious to maintain high standards of dress and appearance, particularly as we move into the warmer months. I would like to specifically draw attention to girls’ skirts and the section that makes it clear what is not allowed. Girls are not permitted to wear short skirts that are made of stretchy, tight material. It is also clear in this section that ‘hoodies’ and track suit tops are not permitted at school.

During the remainder of this half term (until May 26th), students not adhering to the requirements will be challenged and it will be made clear to them what they need to do to correct the situation.

Following half term (from June 5th), students who attend school with incorrect uniform will be placed in isolation during periods of free time until their uniform is corrected. Students who come to school with ‘hoodies’ or track suit tops will have these items removed from them until the end of the day.

Please can you ensure you are clear on the requirements below prior to purchasing any new uniform. Be very careful of buying uniform from popular shops that have a ‘back to school’ section. Just because an item of clothing is in this section, does not mean that it automatically meets our requirements.
