You will have the chance to find out the answers to these types of questions in Geography when you join us. We feel that it is important for you to know about the world, where places are, how events are changing the world and how this may affect you. Remember that Geography is about the future!

In Year 7 we will look at earthquakes and volcanoes, weather, settlements, map skills and economic activities. You may already know about some of these topics from work you have done in your primary school or from your own travel experiences, but we will help you to improve your own knowledge. You will also receive your own Ordnance Survey map of the local area, which you get to keep!

We will encourage you to participate in field work, which will help your understanding of the topics that you will study and help to improve your geographical skills. We will also help you to develop a variety of skills which will be useful in other subjects as well as being important for you in the future.

On behalf of the President and members of Driffield Rotary Club, I write to thank the school for the cheque for £456.63, donated to go towards the cost of rebuilding the school in Sri Lanka destroyed by the Tsunami. It was very generous of the school’s Student Council to agreed to give the proceeds from the non-uniform in July to this very worthwhile project.
