Statutory Requirements of the School

The school would like to take this opportunity of reminding parents about a number of statutory requirements. We hope this information is helpful.

The school provides a daily act of collective worship. Parents/carers have the right to withdraw their children and, where applicable, 6^th Formers have their own right to withdraw. If parents/carers wish to withdraw their child(ren) please contact the Deputy Headteacher (Standards) here at the school.

The school has a written policy on sex and relationships education and this is available on our website (About Us: School Policies). The Governing Body has agreed the content and organisation of its programme of sex and relationships education and this is also available on the school website. Parents/carers have the right to withdraw their child(ren) from that part of the curriculum that is not required by the national curriculum. If parents/carers would like to exercise this right please contact the Deputy Headteacher (Standards).

Students had taken time to do preparation work and the effort to look at the part of an interviewee. The students were a credit to the school and their parents. I would just like to know how much I enjoyed Driffield School’s production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. The singing, notably from pupils in the lead parts, was fabulous. On behalf of the President and members of Driffield Rotary Club, I write to thank the school for the cheque for £456.63, donated to go towards the cost of rebuilding the school in Sri Lanka destroyed by the Tsunami. It was very generous of the school’s Student Council to agreed to give the proceeds from the non-uniform in July to this very worthwhile project.
