Driffield School's Little Book of Poems
The Authors' Retreat decided they would like to put together a book of poems written by pupils at Driffield School as a fundraiser for the library. Poems were submitted and the Authors' Retreat read them all. The best were selected and the book is now here. It is on sale in the LRC for £4.99 and any profit made from this will be used to buy new books for the library for pupils to borrow. The book has some lovely poems in it and we would like to thank all those whose poems made it into the Little Book of Poems and all those whose poems did not make it into the book. We enjoyed reading them all!

The Authors' Retreat
The Authors' Retreat is the LRC book club. We meet on a Tuesday after school from 3.45 until 4.30pm. If you love books come along. We read books, have quizzes, enter competitions and much more. Ask in the LRC if you are interested in joining us.
The LRC Sale
The LRC held a sale of books, buns and 'all sorts of things' in October, 2011. Great fun was had by all and a grand total of £145.00 was raised for the charity Book Aid International.
Book Aid International raise funds to send books to poor parts of the world, especially Africa and also to Palestine. Many of the books are given to women and children who would not have access to any books without the charity's work.
