Reverse Advent Calendar

Throughout the month of December, staff and students supported our local Driffield and Wolds food bank service. As part of the process, we held a reverse advent calendar where each week, specific items were requested for donation. We were overwhelmed by the support of the Driffield School community with over 950 kilos of items collected. Thank you to everyone who contributed and special thanks to our sixth form students Alex Baker, Weronika Wasek, Lucy Elliott, Fred Jackson, Ellie Taarland, Jenna Wreghitt, Emma Hall, Matthew Galtry, Jaye Hawker, as well as Miss Bateman and Miss Warcup for the support with collection and delivery.

Gareth Wood-Townend from the Foodbank added “I would just like to say thank you to all the students, parents and staff that have contributed to the food and toy drive for Driffield Foodbank. Your generosity went a long, long way to ensure that underprivileged people had a good Christmas. It was a pleasure to welcome the Sixth Form students in to see how we operate; and it’s nice to get such a vital organisation as Driffield School & Sixth Form involved in the community. A huge thank you from myself and my team”.
