Wear It Pink Day

On Friday 26th October 2018, staff and students at Driffield School & Sixth Form took part in Wear it Pink Day in aid of Breast Cancer Now.

Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK's largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

Since their first event in 2002, over £31.5 million has been raised for their life-saving research. This research is working to discover how to prevent breast cancer, how to detect it earlier and how to treat it effectively at every stage so they can stop the disease taking lives.

Mrs Naylor, Admin Assistant and organiser of the event, said “I would like to thank all of the students who wore a pink item with their uniform and all of the staff who dressed in pink for the day. More importantly though, to thank everyone who made a donation to this extremely important cause”. With money still coming in, the current total raised so far by the school is over a fantastic £500!!
