Driffield School Paper Recycling Scheme
Driffield School has become part of a worldwide environmental initiative aimed at conserving the earth’s resources.
The Eco Schools scheme is an internationally recognised school based project.
It is endorsed by the Environment Agency, and is part of East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s ‘Local Agenda 21’ programme, which intends to encourage schools in the region to adopt the scheme.
As part of this scheme, the school runs a paper recycling facility, which aims to collect all unwanted paper from every room in the school. The paper is then deposited into a recycling bank and emptied on a regular basis. Most of the staff at school participate in the scheme with many more requesting inclusion to the scheme.
Mr West is always looking to expand the team of volunteers to provide a more efficient service across the school.
