Driffield School Clothing Collection

Students may have noticed the appearance around the school of posters advertising a clothing collection at the school.

During the second half of the spring term there will be a major collection of old clothes, paired shoes, curtains, blankets and belts.

This is being run in conjunction with ‘R Klub’ recycling and will be used to raise money for the Great North Ambulance Service.

Driffield School will also earn money from the collection of clothing. The current rate is £200 per tonne.

Collection bags and RKlub’s 'cool' comics with recycling stories, games etc (for Yrs 7, 8, and 9) will be given out in the tutor period on Thursday 11th March. (These will be put into form trays for distribution by tutors.)

When the bags have been filled, they must be brought back to school either as soon as possible, and left with Mr. West in room 223, or on the following date:

There will be one collection by a member of the beneficiary charity, The Great North Air Ambulance Service, in a van on Wednesday 24th March between 8.30 and 9.15 am. He/she will park in the visitor's car park near the recycling banks. They will collect all the bags the students bring in that morning.

Students are urged to remember to bring in their bags for that morning, so that the maximum amount of funds for the school and the charity can be raised. Future collections will be arranged if this one is successful and productive.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Mr. West.
