Dear Parent
I have pleasure
in presenting the Driffield School Governing Body's Annual Report
for 2001/2002. Any issues raised within it may be discussed at
the Annual Parent's Meeting and we are pleased to hold this year's
meeting in the newly refurbished Youth Centre. I hope you will
accept our invitation to attend and view this excellent addition
to the School's facilities on Tuesday 4th March.
This will
provide an opportunity to meet governors, when any concerns or
views may be discussed and refreshments will be available.
We are always
pleased to publicise the school's achievements and our success
in attracting funding via the local press. For that reason, many
of the contents of our report will be familiar to you already.
Outstanding
exam results, a highly acclaimed OFSTED inspection and massive
strides forward for Driffield School in general have been features
of the last year.
To give you
some idea of where the money we have received is being spent,
we will be mounting a display and making a short presentation
at the meeting on plans for the school site over the next few
years.
As always,
we must emphasise that a sound partnership between governors,
headteacher, staff, LEA and the community is a pre-requisite
to our school's success. The Annual Report reflects both the
efforts required and results achieved over the last year in meeting
this objective. Our sincere thanks and congratulations are due
to all of those who have been involved with us in this partnership.
May I commend
the document to you and I look forward to seeing you on March
4th.
Yours sincerely
Graham
