Here, subjects such as geography, geology, environmental science, biology, history, art and numerous others find rich resources to support or develop the skills and knowledge being acquired by students in the classroom.

Environmental Science Climbing The proximity of forest, moors and coastline as well as many historical sites offer countless potential locations for memorable study visits as well as the opportunity to revel in the beauty of the surroundings. The centre has also been used for intensive study or examination preparation by older students benefiting from the chance of a few days of uninterrupted concentration away from other distractions. The contribution Spiers Bank House can make to the personal and social development of our students is boundless; it is also a peerless opportunity for our teachers to further develop the special relationship they have with their students. Many past students testify that their trips to Spiers Bank live in the memory far into adulthood. Not surprising, therefore, that this unique resource is the envy of schools not only in East Yorkshire, but much further afield.

On behalf of the President and members of Driffield Rotary Club, I write to thank the school for the cheque for £456.63, donated to go towards the cost of rebuilding the school in Sri Lanka destroyed by the Tsunami. It was very generous of the school’s Student Council to agreed to give the proceeds from the non-uniform in July to this very worthwhile project.
