Drugs Policy
Driffield School is committed to the Health and Safety of its members and will take action to safeguard their well-being. The school will not condone the misuse of drugs or alcohol by members of the school nor the illegal supply of these substances.
Aims of the Policy
- To promote a healthy lifestyle.
- To intervene appropriately when drugs are misused and with due regard for child protection procedures.
- To minimise harm and prevent the misuse of drugs.
- To educate/inform about drugs, drug use and misuse.
- To promote the development of self-esteem, assertiveness and decision-making.
- To widen understanding about related health and social issues e.g. sex and sexuality, crime, H.I.V. and A.I.D.S.
- To enable young people to identify sources for appropriate personal support.
